Sometimes you may wish to add or increase the program / software names in the add remove programs list in the control panel.
For example you don’t get the option of Windows Media Player or MSN Messenger in the add remove programs (there are many components which don’t get displayed in add remove programs)
For example you don’t get the option of Windows Media Player or MSN Messenger in the add remove programs (there are many components which don’t get displayed in add remove programs)
There is a hack to display the Names of such programs in add remove programs so that YOU CAN EASILY REMOVE THEM. If you don’t want to keep and uninstall windows media player or uninstall / delete / remove msn messenger from your windows, then do the following.
Open “Run” from the start menu (or press WinKey + r ). Just copy paste the following path and hit ENTER.
C:\Windows\inf\sysoc.inf
A section of the file which opens looks like this:

msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
RootAutoUpdate=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,rootau.inf,,7
IEAccess=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,ieaccess.inf,,7
Example: If you want to remove or uninstall msn messenger or windows media player from your windows xp, this list is where you have to edit little things.
In case of MSN Messenger – there is an entry entry called ‘msmsgs’, in the third-last line. There is a word “hide” there. This string tells the windows not to display the messenger in the add remove programs list. You can fix this and apply this hack easily as follows now:
Just remove ‘hide’ but keep the comma after it.
Change the line
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
to this:
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
to this:
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7
See the Example - Click to Enlarge
Then save that notepad file by selecting Ctrl + S or choosing file -> Save.
Then close the notepad file and restart your computer.
Now you will see the option “msn messenger” in the add/remove programs.
Now you will see the option “msn messenger” in the add/remove programs.
You can show any other hidden software’s name there by just removing hide as we did in this case.

Many times we need to unblock certain websites to gain access to some important stuffs. We all know many ways to do that. But how about actually learning to block one?
Have you even been in a situation when you have to block certain websites from your computer for any reason? Well, I am not sure about any body else but certainly I have been many times in such situation. Parents may also want to prevent access to certain websites on their computer so that children can’t get to them from internet.
So what’s the solution?
oh !! It’s very simple.
1.) Open “Run” from the start menu (or press WinKey + r ). Just copy paste the following path and hit ENTER.
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc and find the file “hosts”. Open that file in Notepad.
2.) When this hosts file is opened in Notepad, at the end of the file you will see something like “127.0.0.1 localhost”.
3.) Under “127.0.0.1 localhost” just add another website URL that you want to block.
For Example:-
4.) Make sure every time you add another website, the last digit of the address 127.0.0.x should not be the same.
5.) Save the file and exit.
So, here you go. Restart your browser if it is opened and changes will take place immediately.
The good thing is that no message, no pop ups nothing will be displayed when someone tries to open a blocked website. Your browser will just fail to open those websites without any error messages.

Boost Your Internet Speed easily with this trick.
Windows uses 20% of your internet bandwidth by default! Microsoft reserve 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes (for updates and interrogating your machine etc..)
Here's how to get it back.
Click Start-->Run-->and type gpedit.msc. Hit enter.
This opens the group policy editor.
Then go to:
Local Computer Policy -->Computer Configuration -->Administrative Templates -->Network -->QOS Packet Scheduler -->Limit Reservable Bandwidth
Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab:
"By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."
So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO.
This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%. Works on XP Pro and 2000. Enjoy your full speed internet connection.

Microsoft has started bugging the users of non genuine copies of Windows. If you are also running a non genuine or pirated copy of Windows then there is a full chance of you getting this notification one day or the other.
The problem was reported by one of our viewers that when she updated her copy of Windows with Windows Update then her system started showing this notification that reads “You may be a victim of software counterfeiting” and “This copy of windows does not pass genuine Windows validation”.
These notifications start coming back again after some time and do not feel good. Though I never encourage piracy but here is how you can remove this problem:
1. Before doing anything serious try restoring your system. If the problem is occurring after the Windows Update then System Restore will surely help.
2. But if it does not then do try this, launch Windows Task Manager.
3. Locate the process “wgatray.exe” and end it.
4. Log in into the Safe Mode and delete the file WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32
5. Also delete the WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32\dllcache
6. Type regedit in Run to open Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify key.
7. Delete the folder WgaLogon and all of its contents.
8. Restart the PC normally.

It is a undescribed program that loads when the system boots(no one seems to know who created it).It is hidden and is able to monitor your system processes and can remotely transfer datas to external servers through lan or internet.It may even manipulate other programs and create a backup of it self in case it is identified and exterminated.
"This just means it is very dangerous"
